Posted on Sun, Feb 21, 2010 Each year we are each asked to give what is known as "per capita" to the Presbytery. Additionall, there is a "mission" contribution requested. Click the link above for more information. PER CAPITA AND PRESBYTERY As a connectional church, we Presbyterians see ourselves as part of a larger entity, something greater than our local congregation. To be Presbyterian is to seek to support and strengthen the other levels of our church such as our Presbytery ( Each member is challenged to give his/her support to the larger church by annually paying $25.00, commonly known as “per capita.” In addition to per capita, every member is challenged to support the mission of the Presbytery with a $30.00 contribution. The figure is derived by taking Presbytery’s mission and dividing it by the total number in the presbytery. Please make your check to Vance and designate it “per capita” or “Presbytery Mission.” If you prefer to combine both, designate your check “capita and mission.” Let us each do our part to support the larger church to which we belong. Thank you.
Discussion:
As members of a Presbyterian church, we are challenged to give support not just to Vance but to the larger church as well.
