COORDINATOR OF CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP
Vance Church is seeking a Christian individual to work with the Pastor and Worship-and-Music Commission to coordinate the church's weekly contemporary worship service.
The Coordinator of Contemporary Worship will --with the guidance and advice of the pastor--select appropriate worship music for the 9am contemporary Service. He/she will recruit, schedule, and coordinate musicians to be part of the service and may also choose to be an active part of the music worship.
It is the responsibility of this person to prepare and present an appropriate service whenever such services are scheduled.
The CoCW will develop effective and meaningful contemporary services that may include videos, dance, drama, and other forms of artistic expression that are appropriate for such a service. In consultation with--and with the approval of--the pastor, the CoCW may expand the forms/order of worship.
The CoCW will be available if requested to assist with combined worship services, special worship services, or other projects as needed.
He/she will be responsible for entering all elements into the sanctuary projection system (Song Show Plus) for both services; and will be responsible for some administrative duties including preparing paperwork needed by church financial office and any required music licensing reports.
At all times an emphasis to be placed on elements of worship and not performance.
This is a part-time position and reports to the Pastor and Personnel Committee who will perform regular reviews of performance. This position is support staff for the Worship and Music Commission.
Qualifications include a strong Christian faith, understanding of the basic tenets of the Reformed faith, a musical/artistic aptitude, as well as leadership and collaborative skills.
To apply or inquire, you may call the church office (304-232-0981) or e-mail the chair of the personnel committee, Howard Monroe (email@example.com).
